Rules and Information

Upon Worlds is a fantasy Role Playing Game (RPG). It takes place in a city named Sudonia. Read about Sudonia here. Upon Worlds is, for now, a Text based game in Message Boards and Chat Rooms. It takes intelligience, strategy, and creativity. Do you think you can handle it? If you do, then Read on.

******* The main objective of the game is to gain EXP. (experience), the more EXP. you gain, the higher the Level you become. And the higher the level you become, the more powerful you are. Also, the higher level you are, the more Fiv (money) you get. When you start the game you have 500 fiv. Anything over 500 fiv in the stores you cannot buy until it says you have enough Fiv look here to see how much fiv you have and how much EXP. you have as well IF YOU PURCHASE MORE THAN YOU CAN BUY YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN THE ITEMS PURCHASED. YOU WILL RECIEVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

First in charge of the city of Sudonia are the Kings, ~ King Toast ~ and 'King 'Jhessail. Second in command of the city is The Head Knight, Lord Sir Orpius. Third in charge of the country are the Council of Knights, none as of right now. ALL CITIZENS MUST obey all of these people, unless lets say a Knight tells you to do something, and a King says otherwise, then obviously you would do what the King says. Again the ranks are :
1. The Kings
2. The Head Knight
3. The Council of Knights (a Knight)

A great way to earn EXP. or Fiv (money), is to show excellence (In the Battlefields, In The Forests of Sudonia, Inside The Casle, The Meeting Place, possibly even in the City Pub. And in the chat rooms during quests or battles - in fighting or helping. A quest is a journey where people - most of the time more than one - go through certain things together. Quests are held by DOG's UNLESS one of the King's give EXPLICIT consent otherwise. In quests you can find things, you can get fiv, EXP., + HP or MP; and just about anything. It's an absolutely great way to earn things.

Probably the best way to earn more EXP. and/or Fiv, is to battle someone in the chatrooms. To do this a taught, DOG must be present. A DOG is a sort of referee person. He will tell you the basic rules of the fight, and throughout the fight determine what happens, not by luck, but by a specific devised system. You must always obey a DOG's commands, wether you like it or not. If you feel a DOG is abusing his/her power, get ahold of us IMMEDIATELY at uponworlds@juno.com AND KingJhessail@uponworlds.8m.com . If you lose the battle, you will not be killed and forever stricken from Sudonia, all that will happen is you will get a mark next to your name under the losses column, you probably will be rewarded EXP. If you win the battle, you earn EXP. and/or Fiv, quite a bit more than if you lose, obviously. The only way you can actually die, and forever be stricken from Sudonia, is if you are fighting in a "Death Match". In the case of one of these matches, the loser will be dead, and cannot return to Sudonia...... under that name. All you have to do is start over under a new name. Likewise, the only way to lose Fiv or something is in a "Objective Match", this is sort of like betting, you can lay out an amount of EXP. and/or Fiv, and/or belongings or whatever, that you and your opponent both have, and the loser loses that amount of things, and the winner gains it, it's as simple as that. In all battles a DOG MUST BE PRESENT. The basic point of the game is to, walk around, make friends, make enemies if you wish, battle our enemies in the Battlefields, protect the Kings and the Glorious Castle, from Inside The Castle. Buy things with Fiv, because you can use them in battles and in the messageboards (examples - The Battlefields, In The Forests of Sudonia, Inside The Castle, The Meeting Place, or The City Pub). And when you battle in these places you can gain more EXP., if you get high enough in Level, we might even Knight you! Although to be knighted you must show GREAT responsiblility in handling things, you must be loyal to the Kings, and you must respect all citizens of Sudonia. Once again, if you feel a Knight is acting out of conduct, or abusing the powers granted to him/her let us know. If you are looking for more ways to earn EXP., and you know how to design web pages, etc., then fill out the form at the bottom of the "Suggestions" page. If we need you to do something we will give you lots of Fiv and Exp. If you want to make a page that you think would be cool, than go ahead, and then show us, we'll probably put it on. Now don't get mad at us if we don't. There is a likely chance that we will put it on though. Also a good way to earn things is to find pictures for the site, of anything medieval or fantasy or evil or whatever. You can also send us backrounds, or midi's or wavs or anything you think is cool, and it will be considered, and if used, you will be rewarded handsomely.

To be a Knight in the Council of Knights you must first achieve trust between the Kings. You be a DOG. You must be able to do HTML, and be ready to update and create pages. It is possible to be stripped of your knightship for certain reasons, known by the Kings. You must keep the trust of more than 2/3 of the population. Now the benefits, upon recieving your knightship youwill immediately go up 5 levels. Which accumulates to 75 more HP, 75 more MP, 2500 more fiv. This may seem luxurious, but being a Knight is no easy task, it's not too hard, but it is a lot responsibility.

Here are some basic guidelines ALL members HAVE to follow to take part in Sudonia. EVERYONE HAS TO RESPECT AND HONOR THE KINGS. If you don't you will be, needless to say...... dead. There is no tolerance, so don't try to joke around, The Kings don't often take things that you might find hilarious funny at all, we might, but I seriously wouldn't take the chance. Basically this is a second life for you. And contrary to public belief, you can have partners, if you like. And of course you don't have to at all. You might fall in love with another citizen or maybe even a King, if you do, then go ahead and try to seek that person. That is not looked down upon here. Of course, that is not the basis of the game whatsoever, We're just stating that you can if you want, and don't fret if it happens. You cannot kill another person in message board, unless he is not an actual citizen. Lets say, for example, the city is being attacked by 600 goblins, 20 Manticores, 2,000 phalanx soldiers, and 1 controlling Mage - you can kill the goblins and phalanx soldiers in the message boards. But the Manticores and ESPECIALLY the Mage you have to post that you do something and wait for a DOG to tell you what happens.

Your character, throughout your life, gains Hit Points (HP) and Magic Points (MP), which you use in duels and quests. You can gain these in a number of ways. You can use the message boards or chat rooms, fulfill quests or tasks given by the kings. You can buy certain things which will raise either of these, or both of these (a nice rare treat). These will all give you exp. to make you more powerful in the land of Sudonia.

For every level you achieve, you will go up 15 HP and 15 MP, as well as 500 more Fiv to your purse.

To be sucessful in the world of Sudonia you must not only master the use of swords and arrows, but you have to have some magical ability. Those who use no magic will undoubtaly fall on the battlefields. Spells are divided into six categories:

In each of these categories spells are put into levels. There are 7 levels and 5 spells per level. That's a total of 35 spells per category and a grand total of 210 spells in the game. Anyone may purchase spells no matter your class. (Warrior, Archer, Ice Mage) And you may purchase spells of any category (you do not have to be a mage in that category). The advantages of choosing to be a certain mage are. 1- The spells in your "color" are cheeper for you to buy. 2- When casting spells of your color you have better outcomes. And 3-There are some items and objects that only certain mages can use. What do you get from all this, you ask? Well, when you are able to buy and use the higher level spells you can do lots of damage... But there is the awesome task of learning all 210 spells... and once you do you will become a Master Mage. Wielding supreme magical ability. As a Master Mage you will be given a special spell that will grant you unbelieveable power. We might even ask our Master Mage to create some spells of their own.... Who knows....

To Have your name be entered on the Citizens page you have to do one thing. You post on the messageboard entitled "In the Castle"; a message whose subject is "NEWBIE ADDITION". In this post you will enter your Name, Race, and your Fighting Class. And for the other players, your Sex. Please post on the messageboard called "In the Castle" only.
